Kuyadz is as kuyadz does

My second tau battle force is here. It all started some time ago when I saw and really liked the xv88 broadside model. What with twin heavy cannons. It was a sight to behold. So I jokingly mention to my gf everytime I see a broad side, “I want to play Tau” hahaha. My gf would always say ” you finish painting your chaos first la” and so it remained friendly banter until my gf one day surprised me with a battleforce of Tau. I was shocked. Then she said “cause I know you wanted”

And so started my tau collection. I really like the challenge playing a tau army puts forth. No psychic power is also new to me. From the toughness of the plague marines, to the taufu-ness of the tau. I need a new strategy.

So far, I have 2 tau battleforces, 2 skyray tanks (going to make hammerheads), 1 one broadside, 6 pirahnas, 3 crisis suits (one is commander). Wow. So much stuff. Battle force includes 24 fire warriors, 24 kroot carnivores, 6 stealth suits and 2 devil fishes. But I promised not to start till my chaose is fully painted. That means one defiler, 3 dreadnaughts, 3 rhinos, and 1 oblite away before I start my tau. Hopefully can start by christmas.

I got a great christmas gift from Adrian Yap (my girlfriend’s cousin). Thanks man. Typhus is an awesome HQ unit that is actually a combination of both a Chaos Lord (as he has a daemon weapon) and a Chaos Sorcerer (as he can cast psychic powers). He is a spell casting wiz as he does not need to roll for leadership when casting psychic powers and he is a beast in melee as he has 4 abse attacks, and D6 (daemon weapon). His daemon weapon is poisoned so he wounds everyone (yes, even the mighty carnifex and nightbringer) on a 4+. on those poor sods who have toughness 4 or less, he gets to reroll his wounds. Oh wait, did I mention that his Daemon weapon is ALSO a force weapon? crazy man. having 4 wounds himself, typhus in a terminator armour is quite hard to bring down especially considering he has feel no pain as well.

that being said, I still have some grudge against Typhus. He costs 225 points. That’s a freaking land raider. and he has a awesome accuracy of BS5. but guess what, he does not have a gun. not even a pistol. And the biggest down fall of the great typhus is the fact that even though he IS the HERALD of NURGLE, he has a T4(5). vulnerable to powerfists, powerclaws, meltas and lascannons. being an IC hurts as he can be targetted. not even an eternal warrior.

so if you can get around these weaknesses (I have not, as both games I used him, Typhus died really early), then typhus is really the bad boy of the warhammer world.

P.s. : sadly, as a death guard wannabe, I’d rather pay an additional 50 pts and play Abby.

P.s.s : SCREAMS AT GW. Make Typhus T5(6) please!!!!!!!!! then I’d play him ALL the time.

They are finally here. My forgeworld chaos dreadnaught right chain fist and also my forgeworld chaos space marine sorcerer of Nurgle. Thanks to the brother of Chris who is my girlfriend’s superior for lugging all the stuff from UK back here to malaysia. The minis and parts are made of Resin, a plastic like stinky rubbery thing. Actually, I can’t smell any of the stinky stuff, but my GF says it stinks. oh well.

here are a few shots of my stuff. Will get some glue tomorrow and will post more pictures as I show a WIP for my Chaos Sorcerer and the arm. oh they look awesome. My Death March army will be ready soon.

And here is the Chaos Sorcerer. I think this model will be awesome when completed and painted. He will lead my Death March army, 20 Plague Marines and himself makes it 21, multiple of 7 which is the sacred number for Nurgle.

I really like his Halberd and the extreme detail of the model. looking forward to really paint this model up nicely.

The Eldar came with Prince Yriel, howling banshees, war walkers, fire prisms and a farseer with support from rangers.

Chaos came with Plague Marines, Rhinos, Daemon Prince x 2 and Obliterators.

Mission – Annihilation

Battlefield – Quarters

Round 1.

Eldar chose quarters and picked a highly advantages spot. with lots of cover and higer ground. the chaos army got stuck with a small tower and open land.

Eldar moved first by moving their fire prisms up and turbo-boosting their wave serpent full of howling banshees. The prisms shot and scatter unto the daemon prince dealing 1 wound. the other prism missed. the rangers fired but to no effect.

Chaos’ first turn saw chaos charging foward. 1 rhino got immobilized going up a hill on difficult terrain. the other 2 made it pass the hill and popped smoke. we are fearsome and chaotic, not stupid. the Daemon Prince of Nurgles continue to fly up and hugged cover. the obliterators shaken and stunned both prisms respectively.

Turn 2.

both prisms continued to do nothing for another turn but move about. Yriel and his dire avengers came up to face the daemon prince.warwalkers came in and dealt 3 wound to a squad of oblites. so 1 died and one left with 1 wound.

obliterator teleported unto the eldar troops and rolled for the mishap table and got placed waaaayyy back of the table. it was far but still could get off 1 or 2 lascannon shots.

one rhino blew up 1 prism. the second prism got popped by the daemon prince. killing with it 8 howling banshees.

round 3

Prince Yriel and his avengers fought the Daemon prince until round 7. I do not want to repeat it 4 times. they fought real hard but eventually the daemon prince made off with 1 wound left. warwalkers continued to shoot the oblites but they made their saves. banshees hit hard on the other daemon prince but they too eventually got wiped.

chaos pushed on the pressure by rushing the rhinos up towards the eldar. dark reapers did nothing to all the rhinos. all shots bounced off the spiky bits.

Round 4

1 warwalker died to obliterator firing multimelta. the other one survived. (Daemon Prince still fighting with Yriel). howling banshees still fighting with daemon prince. i think they died this round.

Rounds 5, 6, 7. a lot of walking towards the eldar and shooting. Eldar tried to fight back but no kills. warwalkers died as well. final kill count.

Eldar – all died except dark reapers (4 left)

Chaos Nurgle – 2 plague Marines, 1 Obliterator and a Daemon Prince.

Chaos Nurgle won by killing almost everything by round 7.

The Eldar have sent a challenge to the Army of Chaos.

Eric’s Eldars have hailed a challenged to the Might of Nurgle. This Friday, 6th of November 2009, there will be battle. let the eldar come and insolently try to even scratch the toughness of Nurgle. The army of Chaos shall be ready to face this nuisance. you’d better be bringing a lot of whatever you are bringing, for we will obliterate you.

The challenge has been sent. The war has been waged. tomorrow (23rd October 2009), the battle will begin. 4 brave (but foolish) commanders are bringing their army to challenge the Cheras system.The people of Yvonne’s colleagues (now dubbed the PJites, have issued a challenge to the people of the Cherasian system.

Imperial Guard, Grey Knights, Eldar and a shooty Ork will all come to face their doom as the will be facing a Necron Army, Dark Angels, Thousand Sons, and The Ultramarines. We will wait then henceforth for the out come of this battle. May the victor be the brave, and tactically sound commander.

I will be there as standby with my Nurgle’s Death March and Yvonne will also be there with the Boyz of Orkz army in case some of them do not have what it takes to face the might and stress of warhammering battling.
